International Space Law: Space Law Education

The following universities offer Master of Laws programs in air and space law in the United States:

The University of Mississippi School of Law offers an LL.M. in air and space law. The program is "designed for both U.S. and foreign-trained law school graduates interested in a rigorous legal curriculum in U.S., international, and comparative air and space law." 

Mississippi's air and space law program is the first and only LL.M. program offering a combined air and space law program, according to its website. Application information can be found here. Information on its online program can be found here

The University of Nebraska College of Law offers an LL.M. in space, cyber, and telecom. The program notes that it "has been the only law college in the nation to offer an LL.M. degree in space, cyber, and telecommunications law." Its website further provides, "Graduates of the one-year program have gone on to careers working for private companies like SpaceX; for civilian agencies like the State Department and NASA Jet Propulsion Law; for military operations such as the U.S. Cyber Command and Space Operations at Vandenberg Air Force Base; as well as for think tanks, consultants and law firms."

International

The following universities offer various programs in air and space law internationally:

Leiden University, located in the Netherlands, offers both a Bachelor of Arts program in aerospace law and an LL.M. in air and space law. Leiden's International Institute on Air & Space Law is "one of the leading international academic research and teaching institutes in the world, specialising in legal and policy issues regarding aviation and space activities in the broadest sense of the word," according to its website.

McGill University, located in Montreal, Canada, offers an LL.M. program within its Institute of Air & Space Law with a thesis or non-thesis option. Information on the programs can be found here. McGill's Institute of Air & Space Law programs produce "loyal graduates... serv[ing] in some of the highest legal positions in the bar, the industry, and governmental institutions in some 120 nations around the world," according to its website
