Evernote isn’t so much a notetaking product as an integration and archival service for many kinds of documents and media formats. It's more of an organizational product than a learning system. Systems like Evernote combine handwritten notes with typed. Evernote takes your notes and attempts to convert them into searchable text. However, Evernote doesn't actually convert your handwriting into text. The disadvantage is obvious. What if your handwriting is so poor that Evernote cannot determine what you've written?
Data show the use of Evernote for reflection was rare (Schepman, Rodway, Beattie, Lambert, 2012). Reflection is necessary for learning.
