Guide to the Law Library at UH Manoa : Keycard Access

A guide to the University of Hawaii Law Library.

Keycard Access Policies

24/7 Keycard access is available for Law Students.

  • All enrolled Law Students can sign up for a Law Library Keycard. It allows them 24/7 access to the law library.
  • To get a keycard, attend a Law Library orientation to learn our keycard rules and to fill out a keycard registration form.
    • Law Library orientations are offered during the beginning of the school year, or by appointment with the Public Services Manager.
    • If you already have a keycard you do not need to do anything.
  • Keycard holders must follow all rules to protect everyone's safety (see below).  If rules are broken, your card can be taken away. This can affect your academic standing.
  • To return the Keycard, please insert it into an envelope with your your name and UH ID. Drop it off in the book slot in the lanai, return it at the front desk during operating hours, or mail it back to the Public Services Manager, 2525 Dole Street Honolulu 96825.
  • If you lost your Keycard, there is a $50 replacement fine. Unreturned Keycards will result in blocked transcripts.
  • Graduating law students can use the Law Library during the summer to study for the Bar.  Keycards are deactivated on August 1st.
  • Do not place your UH ID card and Law Library keycard together when having it read on the keycard reader.  This may cause your keycard to malfunction and not work.

For any questions, please contact the Public Services Manager at rudolfo@hawaii.edu or call 956-7583.
