The Basics

Components of the Kansas Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Kansas is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 3 years old. In addition, Kansas considers the following jurisdictions reciprocal and an attorney may be admitted on motion if, among other things, the attorney has engaged in the active practice of law for five of the seven years immediately preceding the filing of their application:

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming.
