The Basics

Components of the Washington Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Washington is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 40 months old. In addition, Washington allows attorneys from any U.S. jurisdiction to be admitted by motion if, among other things, they have been actively engaged in the practice of law for at least three of the five years immediately preceding the filing of their application.
