The Basics

Components of the Maine Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Maine is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 3 years old. In addition, Maine allows attorneys from any U.S. jurisdiction to be admitted on motion if, among other things, the attorney has been primarily engaged in the active practice of law for at least three of the five years immediately preceding the date upon which their application is filed.
