Components of the Virgin Islands Bar Exam:
The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%
The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) + 2 Local Essay Questions 30%
The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%
Reciprocity:
The Virgin Islands will except UBE scores up to 3 years old. In addition, the U.S. Virgin Islands considers the following jurisdictions reciprocal, and an attorney from a qualifying jurisdiction may be admitted on motion if, among other things, the attorney has been primarily engaged in the active practice of law in one or more U.S. jurisdictions for at least five of the seven years immediately preceding the date upon which the application is filed:
Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Note: This list provided by the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands is not exhaustive and the same privilege of admission on motion is available to attorneys from any U.S. jurisdiction that also admits members of the Virgin Islands Bar without examination.
