The Basics

Components of the Arkansas Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Arkansas is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 25 months old. In addition, Arkansas considers the following jurisdictions reciprocal and an attorney may be admitted on motion if, among other things, the attorney has been primarily engaged in the active practice of law in one or more states, territories or the District of Columbia for five of the seven years immediately preceding the date upon which their application is filed:

Alaska, Colorado, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin.
