The Basics

Components of the Alaska Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Alaska is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 5 years old. In addition, Alaska considers the following jurisdictions reciprocal and an attorney may be admitted on motion if, among other other things, the attorney has engaged in the active practice of law for five of the seven years immediately preceding the date their application is filed: 

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Virgin Islands, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin (if admitted by Bar Exam in Wisconsin), Wyoming.
