The Basics

Components of the Massachusetts Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Massachusetts is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 3 years old. In addition, Massachusetts allows admission on motion for an attorney from any U.S. jurisdiction if, among other things, the attorney has engaged in the active practice of law for at least five of the seven years immediately preceding the filing of their petition for admission on motion.
