The Basics

Components of the Maryland Bar Exam (UBE):

The Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) 50%

The Mulitistate Essay Examination (MEE) 30%

The Multistate Performance Test (MPT) 20%

Reciprocity:

Maryland is a UBE jurisdiction and excepts UBE scores up to 3 years old. In addition, Maryland allows attorneys from any U.S. jurisdiction to be admitted if, among other things, the attorney has worked in the field of law for three of the five most recent years prior to their application for admission or alternatively for at least ten years in total.
