Reciprocity:

Virginia considers the following jurisdictions reciprocal and an attorney may be admitted on motion if, among other things, the attorney has practiced law for at least three of the five years immediately preceding their application and has made such progress in the practice of law that it would be unreasonable to require the applicant to take an examination:

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New Yok, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virgin Islands, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.
